Why the need to develop new habit.?author of the book - ATOMIC HABIT is James Clear. In his book he explained that developing any habit is very easy is not a big deal. He shared an easy and proven way to build good habits and break bad ones. sometimes tiny changes also gives remarkable results. If you ant to make a change in your life, 1st change your daily habits. be aware that if things were going to improve, you are responsible for making that happen.
With the same habits, you'll end up with same results. But with better habits, anything is possible.
how small habit makes a large difference...
we always thinks that for achieving massive success. we need to do massiv actions regarding that. too often, we thinks that massive success requirs massive action. but not always same for each and every stuff. sometimes tiny changes also gives remarkable result. For getting a success we put pressure on ourselves to make some earth- shattering improvement that everyone will talk about.
we sometimes needs to improve any tough habits by 1%. that 1% improvements not always notable- sometimes it is not even noticeable- but it is for sure meaningful. 1% better everyday for 1yr you will endup 37 times better by the time you are done.unfortunately, the slow pace of getting transform also makes it very to leave a bad habit. A little change in your daily habits can guie your life to a very unique destination. it is to often known that you will get what you often repeats. weather it is habits, thinking or saying etc. Margin between achievments and failure is magnified with time. good habits will brighten your life while bad habits will destroy your life. All big things comes from small beginnings. The only way to actually win is to get better every single day. And open the gate of the best version of yourself.
Happiness is lied in process.
the goals is same for every loser and winners. for winners it as only when they implemented a system of continous small improvements that they achieved a different outcome. you need to only fix the input and output will fix themeselves. When you fall in the love with the process rather than the achievements, you dont have to wait to give yourself permit for pleasure. It is about the cycle to endless refinement and continous improvements. Ultimately, it is your commitment to the process that will determine your progress.Three layers of behaviour change
- first layer of changing your outcomes
- second for changing your process
- the deepest layer is changing your identity
1} This level is concerned with changing your results.2} This layer is concerned with changing your habits and systm.3} This layer is concerned with changing with belifs. The alternative is to build identity- based habits. with this approach, We start by focusing on who we wish to become.Behind every system of actions are a system of beliefs. It is hard to change your habits if you never change the underlying beliefs that led to your past behaviour.
Improvements are only temporary until they become part of who you are.
For example :
- The goal is not to read a book, the goal is to become a reader.
- the goal is not to run a marathon, the goal is to become a runner.
- the goal is not to learn an instrument, the goal is to become a musician.
The most practical way to change who you are is to change what you do. If nothing changes, nothing is going to change.
It is simple 2- step process:
1) Decide the type of person you want to be.
2) Prove it to yourself with small wins.
Habits can help you achieve all of these things, but fundamentally they are not about having something. They are about becoming someone.
